Crossroads Holds Pro-Life Rally at the US Capitol

Categories: Latest News

For the 12th summer in a row, the members of Crossroads held a pro-life rally on Saturday, August 12th on the steps of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Crossroads is a national pro-life organization made up of volunteers from colleges and universities across the country. Every summer since 1995, Crossroads has sponsored pro-life walks across America from mid May to mid August. This summer three walks started from Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles and ended together in Washingon, D.C.

“We were fortunate to have over 45 volunteers walk with us this summer from over 30 schools across the country,” said Martha Nolan, National Director of Crossroads. “This summer was our biggest yet” continued Nolan.

Crossroads was started in response to the late John Paul II’s challenge to the youth at the 1993 World Youth Day in Denver. He said “Do not be afraid to go out on the streets and into public places like the first apostles, who preached Christ and the good news of salvation in the squares of cities, towns and villages.”

Taking that call quite literally, the members of Crossroads have been doing that every summer since 1995.
