WASHINGTON, DC – Walkers from Crossroads attended the 32nd Annual March for Life this past Monday, January 24th. “This is the 10th year in a row Crossroads has attended the March for Life” said the group’s president, Jim Nolan “we’re convinced that through changing hearts and minds on this issue, at the grassrouts level, there will continue to be a cultural change in America towards the dignity and sanctity of every human life, from conception until natural death.”

Crossroads was started in 1995 and conducts cross-country Pro-Life walks across America each summer. This summer Crossroads is planning 3 cross-country walks starting simultaneously from Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles on May 21st ending in Washington, DC on August 5th.

Crossroads recruits students from colleges and universities across the country to walk each summer. “We’re planning on having over 60 young people walk with us this summer from over 20 schools” added Nolan, “this will be our biggest summer yet.”

While they cross the country, the walkers wear white t-shirts that have the words “PRO LIFE” in bold on the front. Each mile from the west coast to the steps of the US Capitol is walked. “We will be walking a record 9,600 miles this summer between the three walks,” said Nolan.

While walking is a big part of the summer, the volunteers speak to youth groups, churches, and at other events and also conduct interviews with countless newspapers, radio stations, and television stations.

“Our goal is to reach as many people as possible while we walk through 32 states and thousands of towns and cities” said Nolan, “each summer we meet hundreds of thousands of people face to face and millions through the media.”
