Crossroads has 26 volunteers walking this summer from all over the country. We have everything from an Army reservist to a philosophy major, which just goes to prove that the issue of abortion strikes at the heart of this country. These young people have been touched by abortion and they now want to make a difference. And both walks couldn’t be more excited to gear up and get going.
The starting date is Wednesday, May 19 in San Francisco and Los Angeles. On Tuesday, May 18 the walkers will participate in a full day of intense educational training the walkers to prepare them for their cross-country trek.
The Southern Route will begin from the Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday at 11 am and anyone is welcome to join.
The Northern Route will actually cross the Golden Gate Bridge on Friday, May 21st, at 10:30 am where, again, anyone is welcome to join in the walking.
From there, Crossroads will be fully active in planned rallies, masses, visiting youth groups and of course . . . walking.
Each route is looking forward to a summer of changed lives and converted hearts. These young people are ready for the experience of Crossroads and God could not have put together two better groups to, as St. Francis of Assisi commanded, “Go out and preach the Gospel. And if you must, use words.” Crossroads doesn’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk and this summer will be no exception.
We expect great things from our philosophers and soldiers this summer and if you want to meet these courageous young Americans feel free to come and check out what Crossroads is all about.
